The East Bay Amateur Radio Club (EBARC) in Richmond, California was founded over 50 years ago by a group of local amateur radio operators. While our purpose is mainly social, club members provide a variety of services to the community including:

  • Teaching ham radio and electronics classes
  • Conducting ham radio license examinations
  • Providing emergency communications services
  • Providing radio communications for public events (e.g., walk-a-thons)

EBARC has maintained a club station in Richmond for many years, complete with several HF transceivers, tower-mounted yagi antennas, VHF/UHF stations for local emergency communication, our own off-the-grid power source, and a packet station. Unfortuntately, the City of Richmond has reallocated this site to another use and we are currently looking for a suitable site in which to relocate.

We welcome both licensed ham operators and the general public to become club members and to participate in our monthly meetings and other club activities. A copy of the club's bylaws is available here in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format: EBARC Bylaws. A copy of our Membership Application Form is also available here in PDF format: Membership Application.

Regular club meetings are held on the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:30pm and run for about 2 hours.

Meeting Location:
El Sobrante Library
4191 Appian Way
El Sobrante

There is a ham radio related program at each meeting. Please feel free to come and join us any time.
